New additions to the Leader Family!!!!! About 18 months ago, we completely renovated the lakes on holes 10 & 11. We then bought all sorts of exotic species of ducks and swans from all over the world. As we've moved into the summer, we've been delighted to see not only ducklings, but these four beautiful signets from a pair of black swans. The parents never leave their side, and players have to watch for them because their favourite habitat until about midday is the centre of the 10th fairway. Anybody fool enough to try to move them gets chased by the father! A pair of mandarin ducks have also had ten ducklings. However, we normally expect the surviving number to half because the turtles which also live in the lakes drag the smallest ducklings under the water and drown them!!!! We tend not to interfere in any way with what's going on because it's nature at work.
Works on the buggy paths   We're also working away to concrete all the buggy paths around the entire golf course. It's a good project to take on during the summer months because the course is in low season, and it causes less disruption to visitors. It's not so much fun for the team working on it though, because temperatures commonly exceed 35º in the summer months! We also need to put quite heavy machinery onto the golf course to achieve this and I wouldn't fancy trying to do that during the rainy season!! The buggy paths will make a major difference to the course though. We've now got a great team of greenkeepers, headed by Juan Aguilera who is a Scholar from Valderrama, and so the outlook for the course is very exciting. Everybody's working away to make sure that the improvements to the course as well as the clubhouse are always continuous.
