school clubs and summer break Academies are all lined up to get the young
ones up and enjoying the sport. Any juniors under the age of 15 interested

Dannie
and Tom Warrick
After
2 years at Estepona Golf, Dannie and Tom are moving back to
England. Originally visiting Spain as part of a year out after
university, they came to enjoy life on the coast and Toms love of
the game found a welcome home at Estepona Golf. Since working at
the club Dannie has taken up the role of newsletter editor while
Tom qualified as a professional and began his teaching career. Now
the time has come for them both to return to England where Dannie
will take up a graduate HR role and Tom has applied to join the
RAF as a flight operations officer. Their cheery smiles and
friendly demeanour will be sadly missed in the clubhouse.

Arround the Course
Esteporka
Competition
Now
a yearly event the Esteporka competition was born on a sunny afternoon
on the Estepona Golf Terrace. As Graham Noon
tucked into his delicious BBQ lunch he was stopped in his tracks by a
piece of bacon which looked remarkably like the pig from whence it came.
The bacon was rescued, varnished and put on display and has been the
revered trophy ever since. This year we had a fantastic turnout despite
heavy rainfall prior to the event. Although everyone was a little muddy,
a fantastic time was enjoyed by all, saving the bacon for another year.
Snow on the Mountains
Early
morning golfers have been treated to the spectacular sight of snow gracing
the tops of the Sierra Bermeja mountain range, which lies directly behind
the golf course. The snow, which usually melts by midday, was sighted on
Sunday and Monday the 29-30th of January. This had not been the
first year we have seen snow on these mountains but this is the fullest
coverage ever! A fantastic sight indeed for the Costa del Sol golfers.
