Drainage & Re-landscaping Projects

As part of an ongoing investment programme, substantial drainage and re-landscaping works are underway in preparation for next winter.

Regular players will have noted that over many years, underground aquifers have destabilized parts of fairways number 8, 11, and 18.  These are currently being re-landscaped following the insertion of major drainage channels.  This follows a similar successful project on hole 17 last year.

Apart from expanding the playing area, the effect of the re-landscaping allows for improved cutting and maintenance.

New Access & Entrance

Estepona Golf’s new entrance road has now been re-surfaced!  Now completed, work will now transfer to the club’s former entrance road which will also be re-surfaced.

Keep your eye out for the new entrance!!!! It’s located about 100 metres before the old entrance on the right hand side of the main coastal road.

LYNDLEY'S OLD BOYS COMPETITION

Due to popular demand Lyndley’s “old boys” competition which we host every month will be taking place on August 23rd. An individual Stableford competition with three categories – over 50’s, 60’s and 70’s anyone is welcome to join the fun! Tee times are available from from 08:40 onwards.

Prizes for each category including nearest the pin and longest drive.

ESTEPONA GOLF'S SUMMER SCRAMBLE

We are hosting our annual competition on the 2nd September.  To get the day off to a great start and included in the price we are offering a coffee and bacon roll in the clubhouse bar. The format is a four ball Texas Scramble but don’t worry if you are not a complete four ball we can match you up to form a team.  A shotgun start at 09:00 means that everyone will be back to the clubhouse at roughly the same time to enjoy the prizegiving and  bbq prepared especially for you by our very own Peter Cannon.

All this for just 55.00€ and 35.00€ for members. Don’t miss out! Please contact the Pro shop to reserve your place.

Vanessa Harris

Vanessa Harris

Vanessa Harris moved to Spain and joined us at Estepona Golf in March 2006. Vanessa was born in Ecuador and lived in many other South American countries up until the age of nine, when she moved to England.

When she finished her secondary education at an all girls’ boarding school in Kent, she took a gap year to do more of what she loves to do most, which is to travel.

She then went to Oxford Brookes University to study International Tourism Management, a four year course, including a year of work experience at a hotel in Tenerife.

On graduating from University in June last year and facing the big wide world, Vanessa had very little idea as to what to do next, all she knew is that she wanted to get away from the cold and miserable weather in England! So in January of this year she made the decision to move to sunny Spain and in March she began working in the proshop welcoming the golfers with her warming smile!
