James Boardman
James joined the Estepona Golf team over three
years ago and has been fully involved in all aspects of the golf
business. At present he divides his time between Spain and the U.K
where he is studying to become a Chartered accountant. Having
completed his course, James will return full time to Estepona Golf
in an accountancy role.

Arround the Course
Hole 2 and 3 - Update
Significant progress is being made on the
lengthening of the 2nd hole from a par 4 to a par 5. Bermuda
turf sections have been laid on the new tees. In addition our greenkeepers
are working hard on the landscaping of the area, which are being planted
with platoons of Rye grass and Agrosti.
The work is due for completion around the middle
of April.
Meanwhile the
work on the third hole will transform it from a par 5 to a par 4. This
will only enhance the hole, as at present there is no clear view of the
green. Once work has been completed players will be able to tee off from a
platform tee, which will give spectacular views down the sweeping fairway
and out to sea. As with the
2nd hole, a new tee will be constructed with Bermuda turf sections, which
will give a better feel to the golfer.
Earth moving work is predicted to begin in three
weeks time.
Following the progress of our plans for the
second hole, work is continuing tremendously quickly, with hopes still on
late summer for the completion and opening of the new 15 bay driving
range complex.
New Tee on Hole 10
Recent work on hole number 10 has more than
doubled the size of the men’s tee. This is part of a larger landscaping project, which will see the
introduction of mature olives and palms to the surrounding area, producing
a stunning visual display to add to the already great views from this tee.

19th March - Rock golf vs Estepona
Golf – This is a yearly event where the might of
Estepona Golf take on the Gibraltar Rock Team. Always a close battle but
brilliant fun with both teams enjoying a post- match lunch in the
clubhouse. This year was a tight match but after last years defeat
Estepona had a point to prove. There was no mercy as they won hole after
hole defeating Rock golf in almost every game, although the sunshine and
the wine went someway to soften the blow. Score Estepona 10.5 Rock Golf

Dates for Your Diary

May charity competition in aid of Ninos Necesitados
Open to everyone, its a four ball texas scramble, with prizes for the
winning team and the runners up. Also prizes for longest drive and nearest
the pin as well as a large prize raffle draw. The price is 50 euros

Weekly Stableford Competitions
Don´t forget every second
Friday and every Sunday until the end of May we host the Premier
Golf Services stableford competitions. These competitions are open to
everyone and there are lots of chances to win great prizes. Please sign up
on the board in the clubhouse or speak to Tim.
- Sundays: 18 holes – 55 euros, Greenfee and
competition entry.
- Friday: 9 holes – 35 euros, Greenfee,
competition entry, food and wine.
